Cross Cultural Consumer Characterisation
Young and Rubicam introduced this idea in order to accommodate for individuals from all backgrounds and cultures to broaden their media audience and their understanding of them. This has also been done by myself with a focus into the gospel genre and how this theory would relate to individuals who would find interest in this genre. There were 3 types of people that related most to this genre which are as follows:
- The explorer
- The mainstream
- The struggler
The explorer would relate as gospel music isn't very popular on the UK's charts which means that for individuals to become interest they will have to be willing to discover something new anmd different. The mainstream would apply also due to the fact that the gospel genre supports the idea of family, everyday routines and dedicating your life for others which can act as a means to support people from the mainstream category. The struggler would apply also due to the fact that gospel music gives individuals from the struggler group hope which is what many individuals of this category strive for and through the feeling of hope these people can escape their everyday troubles and trials.
